The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a Federal Communications Commission program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet access. It provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet if the provider offers ACP-discounted devices.

There are two steps to enroll: 1) Go to ACPBenefit.org to submit an application or print out a mail-in application. 2) Contact your preferred participating provider, such as Southwest Texas Communications, to select a plan and have the discount applied to your bill.

Get more details and eligibility criteria at fcc.gov/ACP.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted a new compliance framework to ensure that broadband service subsidized by the Connect America Fund (CAF) meets basic speed and latency performance standards. Southwest Texas Communications is required by the FCC to do Performance Measures Testing since we receive money from the CAF.

We’ll notify you if you’re randomly selected for testing. The equipment used does not enable providers to see or track a customer’s online activity. Southwest Texas Communications will only receive data on your internet connection’s speed and latency performance.

If you have questions, call us at 830-683-2111.
