Caller ID
Determine the calling party's name and telephone number before you answer the call. A special display device is required for this feature. This device can be attached to your existing telephone or you can purchase a telephone that is capable of displaying the caller's name and number. The Caller ID device can store the names and telephone numbers of people who called, even while you were away from your phone. You can easily review these names and numbers and return those calls. $4.95 per month.
Operation:
- Wait for the second full ring when you are called.
- The name and telephone number of the calling party will appear on your display.
- Refer to the instructions for your Caller ID display device for more information.
Please read the Calling Number Blocking section if you wish to maintain the privacy of your unlisted telephone number or if you simply do not wish for your name and telephone number to be shown on Caller ID displays. The Caller ID device will display a message such as private or anonymous if a call is received from someone who has blocked his or her line.
It is also possible that a call originated by another telephone company or a call carried by a long distance company will not support the Caller ID feature. The Caller ID device will display a message such as out of area or no data sent in that case.
